Happy New year! i hope everyone had a good holiday season, I know I did! We are back and starting up our reviews again starting with an affordable case tumbler, The Hornady M-1.
I've been using this tumbler about 3 weeks now, and I've tumbled about 2000 cases with it so far. I've been using it with corn cob media and polish(review next week!) and running on a timer for 3 hours per batch. I've tumbled 45 ACP and 223 Rem, and there have been some ugly cases in there. all cases have come out clean and shinny. i could probably run it for less time but i haven't bothered playing with run time on it.
the tumbler includes the tumbler, a wrench and a sifting basket in the box. A little assembly is required but took me less than 3 minutes to get it put together and ready to go. Oh and thanks to the Hornady, Get Loaded! promotion it also has a rebate that you mail in for 100 free bullets!
The tumbler is quiet running and does a fantastic job, i do suggest getting a 5 gallon bucket from you local hardware store, this will make using the sifter a lot easier and the tumbler actually fits completely in a 5 gallon bucket for storage.
I picked this up on Midway USA for a whopping $27.99. Not sure if I just hit a sale or not but it seems that the price is now $65 or so. At $65 I would not get it. It has nothing to do with its performance but more about the options at that price point. At $27.99 plus the 100 free bullet rebate i would suggest picking one up, i actually regret not getting 2!
Tune in next week for Cabela's Corn Cob tumbling media and polish review!
